A Re-Created Keepsake

After 45 years, her antique sapphire and diamond engagement ring was brought in for some much-needed attention. Due to wear, her ring had become extremely thin, and her sapphire was at risk of falling out. She decided that the best route to preserve such a stunning piece was to redesign it while staying true to its original style. Recutting the sapphire and using diamonds from an old pair of earrings, her ring has been brought back to life, and can now be worn and loved for many years to come.

“Today I picked up my ring. It is spectacular, even more than I imagined. Dana's was able to recut the face of the sapphire to remove all the scratches I'd accumulated over those 45 years of wearing my ring every day. The stones are raised above a filagree white gold base as the original ring was which in my mind continues to give it that antique look. The diamonds surrounding it enhance the sapphire rather than take away from its beauty. And my wonderful husband loves it too. A large thank you goes to Kyra and the craftspeople who recreated my keepsake.”
